Alice Grosserode

MSW Intern

(University of Tennessee)

Alice was born and raised in East Tennessee, just west of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Tennessee in 2023, and she is currently working toward her Master of Social Work through the University of Tennessee.

After graduating with her Bachelors of Social Work, Alice taught English for one year in Latvia, an experience in which she discovered her love of working with teenagers. She has previously worked with individuals experiencing homelessness, assisting individuals and families in securing permanent housing. During her senior year of undergrad, she interned at a community call center where she responded to calls from individuals with a diverse array of needs, providing these individuals with support, connection to resources, and assistance navigating social service systems. In her role as a CASA volunteer, Alice gained experience in the juvenile court system, advocating for the best interests of the children involved in these cases. Additionally, she has a passion for research and has worked as a research assistant in two behavioral health research labs.

Alice sees her work with individuals as an immense privilege. She strives to create an environment of safety and inclusivity where her clients feel supported, respected, and free from judgment. She believes in empowering clients and helping them realize their goals through a process of collaboration. She employs trauma-informed, strengths-based approaches that focus on the whole person and their mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. She enjoys working with both teenagers and adults of any race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation. Alice utilizes evidence-based interventions like TST, CBT, DBT, MI, and client-centered approaches to help clients reach their goals in a supportive, welcoming environment.

Alice lives in Seattle, Washington with her fiancé. You can find her unwinding by reading a good book, crocheting, baking, or watching TV. She loves live music, long walks, and cheering on the Nashville Soccer Club!
